“Strong” is the new single by Berlin-based artist Ant Antic. An energetic, dancey pop anthem at first glance, the latest taste of the upcoming album is an exceptionally personal and intimate insight into the adolescence of singer and producer Tobias. “Strong” is a courageous song about the self-imposed pressure to be strong, about trying to look tougher, stronger, and more successful on the outside – and the liberating feeling of finally learning to drop the mask and embrace who you are.

“Growing up as the youngest in a family of strong characters, I’ve learned early on not to show weaknesses.”, Tobias recalls. “At least in part, I think this was the reason why I started writing music – which, for me, had to be better than everyone else’s. Growing up and learning to do the things I love just for myself has helped me free myself from these patterns of thought and brought me closer to my family and myself.”

„Als Jüngster in einer Familie voll starker Persönlichkeiten habe ich schnell gelernt, keine Schwäche zu zeigen.“, erinnert sich Tobias an seine Kindheit in Österreich. „Sogar meine Songs mussten besser sein als die von anderen, um selbst überhaupt damit zufrieden zu sein. Nach und nach habe ich dann gelernt, Dinge, die mir Spaß machen einfach nur für mich selbst zu tun. Das hat mir unglaublich geholfen, mich von alten Denkmustern zu befreien, und mich mir selbst viel nähergebracht.“
